Roaring River Park

Site Directions: From I-40, take Hwy 53 north thru Gainesboro. Turn east on Hwy 135 and follow signs into recreation area.

Site Description: The park has access to Roaring River, including a boat ramp, gravel walking path, and open grassy fields and wooded edges.


Views of the river and bluffs.


Wildlife to Watch: Look for Great Blue Herons year round and waterfowl in winter. American Kestrels were present in March 2010. A variety of common birds of Tennessee are present.


Old fields (recently mowed) and the hillsides.
